Cabinet is the Council’s main executive decision-making body. Cabinet is responsible for taking key decisions and recommending the Budget and Policy Framework to Council. The work of the Cabinet falls into three main areas: advising the Council on future policy (in consultation with the Overview and Scrutiny Committees); taking decisions, providing they are in line with existing policy and not covered by the non-executive committees; and appointing representatives on outside bodies and organisations.
