1.       Household Support Fund – April to September 2022

The reason for the report was to provide an overview of the third round of Household Support Fund grant, made available by Government to Gloucestershire County Council and the proposed use of the allocation offered to Cotswold District Council based on an agreed delivery plan.

The Officer opened the meeting by summarising the report that had been shared with the Member.

It was noted that the £133,850 support fund should be distributed with at least one third ring-fenced to homes with children, and at least one third ring fenced to support pensioners, and the remainder to support other households in genuine need of support.

It was noted that the allocation from Cotswold District Council allocations would be

·         38% to homes with children delivered through partner Citizens Advice

·         47% to people in receipt of Pension Credit through provision in the form of supermarket vouchers

·         15% to support other households in need, with a small amount allocated to administration of the scheme and postage.

It was noted that the Council had learned from previous application rounds the best way to secure funding and make payments.

Decision

The Cabinet Member considered the recommendations of the Officer and approves the recommendation that Cotswold District Council submit a delivery plan to Gloucestershire County Council for grant funding of £133,850 from the Household Support Fund, to be used as set out in the delivery plan attached at Annex B

Reason for Decision of the Cabinet Member for Health and Wellbeing

The Cabinet Member approved the recommendation as it was aligned to the Corporate Priority of helping residents and communities to access the support they needed to maintain their health and wellbeing.
