1. Discretionary Council Tax Discount
This report enables the Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Finance to determine an application for Discretionary Council Tax discount submitted under Section 13A of the Local Government Finance Act 1992, as amended.

Considered the application for Discretionary Council Tax discount for the period from 26 April 2021 to 4 July 2021. The application was refused.
Reason for Decision of the Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Finance
There is a current scheme in place whereby 100% Council Tax discount is granted in month one, with a 25% discount given in month two where landlords are undertaking works to ensure that their properties are of the required standard for letting out to tenants.
The Cabinet Member noted the best endeavours of the landlord to complete these works to meet the required standards related specifically to energy performance requirements, but did not agree that a further discount than already received by the landlord should be given.
