Purpose:

The purpose of the report was to consider consultation feedback on the proposed changes to parking charges across all car parks and, to consider charging times for Rissington Road car park, Bourton on the Water.

Decision:

The Executive Director of Corporate Services in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Health, Culture and Visitor Experience resolved to:

Vary the Schedule to the Parking Order to effect the following changes to Parking Charges and charging periods:

CHARGES VARIATION

1. To increase the Scale of Parking Charges to align with the Car Parking Strategy.

2. To increase Season Ticket / Permits Parking Charges (excluding Cirencester Whiteway which is subject to a separate order).

VARY THE CHARGING PERIODS IN RISSINGTON ROAD CAR PARK

3. Vary the hours when charges will be made at Rissington Road Car Park from between the hours of 8am – 6pm to between the hours 10am – 8pm on any day including Bank Holidays.

Reasons for the decision:

Having considered the feedback from the public consultation on the parking charges, it is considered the proposed changes are appropriate to deliver actions identified in the Parking Strategy and the Council wish to proceed to make the Order.

Alternative options considered:

Before making the decision the alternative options of leaving the Parking Order unchanged were considered but these would not align with the adopted Parking Strategy.
