UK Shared Prosperity Fund Application April 2025

Decision Maker: Chief Executive Officer - Jane Portman

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

To consider recommendations from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund Assessment Panel.

Decision:

The Chief Executive, in consultation with Cabinet Member for the Economy and Environment resolved to APPROVE the allocation of the remaining funding from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and Rural England Prosperity Fund up to £130,000 to the project to bring the Old Station building, Cirencester back into use.

Reasons for the decision:

The reason for this decision was to enable the Council to make full use of the UK Shared Prosperity and Rural England Prosperity Funding allocated to it by Government and to deliver the outputs and outcomes set out in its UKSPF Local Investment Plan.

Alternative options considered:

The option of not allocating the remaining funding was considered, and dismissed. It was noted that this would have required the unspent funds to be returned to the Government, which would have put the Council at risk of failing to deliver the expected outputs and outcomes.
