Purpose:

To consider recommendations from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund Assessment Panel.

Decision:

The Chief Executive in consultation with the Cabinet Member for the Economy and the Environment resolved to approve the award of funding to a project in the district as described in Annex 1, having had regard to the recommendations of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund Assessment Panel.

Reasons for the decision:

To enable the Council to make use of the UK Shared Prosperity Funding allocated to it by Government and to approve a project which will help the Council to deliver the outputs and outcomes set out in its UKSPF Local Investment Plan.

Alternative options considered:

The option not to award the funding was considered but ultimately rejected. It was determined that there was no valid reason to deny the award, and doing so could result in unspent allocated funds and failure to achieve the Council’s expected outputs and outcomes.
