Purpose:

To approve the recommendations of the Rural England Prosperity Fund Business Grant Assessment Panel and award funding to a business in the district.

Decision:

The Chief Executive Officer, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Economy and Council Transformation resolved to:

1.    Approve the recommendations of the Rural England Prosperity Fund Business Grant Assessment Panel and award funding to a number of businesses in the district. (See appendix)

Reasons for the decision:

To enable the Council to make use of the Rural England Prosperity Funding allocated to it by Government and to approve applications by businesses in the District which will help the Council to deliver the outputs and outcomes set out in the REPF Local Investment Plan addendum.

Alternative options considered:

Not to approve the assessment panel’s recommendations. To do so may risk failing to spend the allocation available and not delivering the outputs and outcomes expected of the Council.
